A Discussion of Nonstructural Flood Mitigation Strategies

a Nebraska Silver Jackets Project

The Nebraska Silver Jackets team in association with the Nebraska Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association (NeFSMA) will be presenting a one-day course on Nonstructural Flood Risk Reduction. This course will provide information on:
• Different types of Nonstructural approaches
• Insurance benefits
• Cost benefit analysis methods
• Programs to help implement nonstructural
(HMGP, FMA, USACE Continuing Authorities)
Target Audience: floodplain managers, stakeholders, state officials, community leaders, and the engineering community
